Aric Thorne-Thomsen P.T., M.S.

Aric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Vermont, at Castleton State College (1990-1994) studying sports medicine/athletic training.  He became a certified athletic trainer (ATC) through the NATA in 1995.  He worked as an athletic trainer for 3 years in various sports medical institutions including the renowned Stratton Mountain School / ski academy.   He then went on to earn his Masters degree in Science with a concentration of physical therapy at the University of Montana (1997-1999); and received his certification in 1999 through the APTA. Aric received his certification in strength and conditioning (CSCS) through the NSCA in 2005.

 

Aric has been working in Montana as a certified physical therapist since 1999.  His special interests are in orthopedics, biomechanics, manual therapy, sports medicine rehabilitation and prevention.  Aric lives in Missoula with his wife Ragna and two children.

 

Advanced Training:

Duffy – Rath courses I-V – Focusing on the principles of biomechanics, healthy joint range of motion, strength to meet and exceed the needs of lifestyle, function, and development of musculoskeletal self-efficacy.   Emphasis in manual therapy techniques to promote full healthy joint and soft tissue range of motion.

Strain-Counter-Strain—Principles of releasing or resetting neural feedback patterns to allow for restored function and movement patterns.

Mulligan – Mobilization with movement to promote proper joint movement patterns and restore function, taping techniques to promote biomechanics and proprioceptive feedback.

Sahrmann – Principles of movement patterns and impairments and resolution of impairments for the spine, upper and lower extremities.

Sports medicine courses – Focusing on the cause, prevention, and rehabilitation of shoulder, ankle, knee, foot, forearm, and back injuries – Including, but not limited to post-operative care.

Sub-Acute Motor Vehicle Accidents:  Effective and efficient clinical approaches / treatments

Foot and ankle course – Arizona foot doctor on evaluation and treatment of common disorders
